About
River Valley Angus Ranch
Our Ranch
Established 2021
Nestled in the River Valley of Western Arkansas, our Ranch is located between Fort Smith and Hot Springs surrounded by the Kiamichi Mountains at the foothills Ouachita Mountains. This lends itself to our ability to utilize the lush Bermuda and other native grasses perfect for cattle grazing.
We are able to cut hay and store it for the winter to ensure consistency in their diets all year round. We have spring fed ponds, natural springs, and seasonal creeks for plenty of water.
Our Story
Co-Owner and Operator, John, grew up in a farm setting where he started his interest in raising farm animals and learned the basics.
Co-Owner, Shelly, grew up in Arkansas with family and friends in the cattle and agriculture business.
We researched for several years different types of cattle and farming needs in the area. We started by supporting our local FFA and continue to support argicultural youth programs.

Our shared mission of being good stewards of our animals and land is the basis of our philosophy providing a great home for our cattle. With a rich history of agriculture and farming, we moved close to family to start our new cattle business. After much research, we found the Gardiner Angus Cattle Ranch family brand. Their long history and utilization of current technologies such as, method genetics; ensures a strong start. We invested in 22 bred heifers and cows to begin our new adventure last fall. We bought a Hometown (SIRE) and Momentum (DAM) Bull to complete our herd in 2022.

We believe combining the strong genetic profiles of our cattle with focus on building our own quality prime beef and cattle through herd and land management will be a recipe for success.
